That question stayed with me for a long time.
And the reason was sitting right in front of me.
His name is Echo.

Echo isn't the first dog I've loved.
Growing up, our family always had dogs. They were loved, cared for, and treated like family long before I understood what responsible pet parenting really meant.
But Echo changed something.
When he came into my life, I started paying closer attention to the little things.
What he ate.
What went into his treats.
Whether those treats were actually good for him.
THE PROBLEM
Then I Started
Reading Labels.
Like most pet parents, I assumed that if a product was on the shelf, it was probably fine.
Then I started reading labels.
And honestly?
I didn't love what I found.

"Why should pet food be held to a lower standard than human food?"
HOW GENPETS WAS BORN
The Treats Didn't Need

I wasn't looking to build a pet brand.
I was simply looking for treats I could feel confident giving to my own dog.
Treats made with real ingredients.
Treats with a purpose.
Treats that contributed something positive to his health instead of just adding empty calories.
But the options were surprisingly limited.
So I decided to create them myself.
Not from a business plan.
Not from a trend.
But from one pet parent trying to do better for her dog.

Meet Khushboo.
Khushboo Singh founded GenPets with a simple belief: dogs deserve the same quality, transparency, and care that we expect from our own food.
As a pet parent to Echo, she became increasingly conscious of what was going into pet treats and began questioning ingredient labels, additives, and the lack of transparency in the pet nutrition industry.
What started as a personal search for better treats eventually became GenPets — a brand built around clean ingredients, functional nutrition, and honest labeling.
Today, Khushboo works closely on product development, ingredient selection, and educational content at GenPets, helping pet parents make informed decisions about their dogs' nutrition and overall well-being.
